It started out slow and I put it aside to read something else, after that i came back to the story. It is written well, could have done with a epilogue though s well as at the end an explanation of Aussie terms. I have visited Australia twice, the fist time driving from Cairns to Sydney. I've read a number of books by Aussie authors and love Nikki Logan's work. Having said ll that I know what an Akubra is and a Ute the other terms are mystery. For instance I believe that your "marque" in Yank English is a "tent" but then I am only guessing.Product details

I wondered about the story when I first started, but it improved and held your interest. The combination of our world and the joining in of the people that have passed on really held your interest. The story was really good and the characters were great, sorry when it finished.
I bought it because I read a review in some magazine. Hav e visited Thursday Island and was very curious to see if the book did the Island justice..........it did. Great read, hope the author continues to write in the same vein.
A moment of indecision and panic in youth, life choices, consequences, love, healing, self determination. The characters, their dialogue and the story is true to life. A story of the enduring bonds that hold an outback family, community and first love.
I enjoyed An Outback Chance. It was an easy read and it kept my interest throughout even though it was predictable. I read it whilst on holidays so I didn't need to concentrate too much which was exactly what I was looking for. If you're after an easy but entertaining romance read, with an outback setting, this could be for you.
Found this in the Free section on and thought I would give it a try. I loved it! Had a hard time putting it down. It is definitely different from the romance novels I usually read. This story is light in drama and just enough kiss and imagine. Sally (the main female character) reminded me of me a lot. I liked it enough that I am going to check and see if the author has any other books.
A great story about love, then love lost, then the long lost lovers reconnect. Sal and Conner finally find each other. Great book.
I really enjoyed the addition of friendly ghosts to the traditional romance formula, especially Cuddles the cat. The author does good job of the "will they/won't they" dynamic, and allowing us to see into the hero Connor's head adds to the tension. The heroine Sally does seem to have an alarming tendency to binge drinking, though the author does let us know this is out of character for her normally. I havent read many romances for a long time, but I would happily read more written by Chris Versace.
